Spicy boondi
Spicy Boondi, a simple deep-fried teatime snack prepared from besan or gram flour batter and spices, which is then mixed with roasted nuts and curry leaves.

Batter preparation
Add gram flour and rice flour in a mixing bowl.
Add asafoetida, turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt and mix everything well.
Add water little by little to get a thin batter. Most likely a dosa batter consistency. It should not watery or too thick
Add pinch of baking soda. Mix it well.
Frying boondi
Heat enough oil in a pan for frying.
Now take a dry perforated ladle/jhara and place it above the hot oil. With a spoon add some batter on the perforated spoon ladle/jhara. Spread the batter lightly with a spoon.
Fry till it turns crispy
For mixture
In another small pan, take 1 to 2 teaspoons ghee or oil.
Add a handful of groundnuts / peanuts, fry till it turns crunchy and keep aside.
Add few cashew nuts and fry them untill they turn golden.
Add a few strings of curry leaves and fry them.
Transfer the fried nuts and curry leaves into a bowl. Add salt and chilli powder according to your taste.
Mix boondi and fried nuts together.
